New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani named Lina Khan chair of the New York City Economic Development Board and Tony Shorris leader of the New York City Economic Development Corporation. Khan previously chaired the Federal Trade Commission; Shorris is a McKinsey & Co. partner with city government experience dating to 1979. The EDC functions as the city's largest landlord, overseeing more than 60 million square feet of property and approximately $6 billion in active capital projects.
