The U.S. Army announced on Wednesday plans to deploy nuclear microreactors at five military installations from New York to Texas under the Janus program. Five companies will receive up to $2.2 billion over five years to build and operate more than 20 reactors, with initial awards including Antares for Fort Bragg, North Carolina. No microreactors currently supply the commercial U.S. electric grid.
