On August 28, President Trump signed an executive order establishing the U.S. Space Academy, modeled on existing U.S. military service academies, during an event at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston. The academy is designated to train personnel for the U.S. Space Force, NASA, and the civilian spaceflight industry. Trump also awarded the Congressional Space Medal of Honor to the four Artemis II astronauts at the same ceremony.
