The Southern Poverty Law Center filed a 47-page motion on Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Alabama asking a federal judge to dismiss an 11-count indictment charging wire fraud and bank fraud. The indictment, secured by the Justice Department in April, alleges the organization misled donors about payments to confidential informants and deceived banks about related accounts. The SPLC has pleaded not guilty.
