Nagendra, Planning and Statistics Minister and four-time MLA from Ballari Rural, resigned from the Karnataka Cabinet on August 28 following allegations of embezzlement at the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation Ltd. He announced the decision at a press conference at the state secretariat, stating he had no role in the matter but resigned to avoid embarrassment to the government. Nagendra had been re-inducted into the cabinet on August 3 after a prior resignation in June 2024.
