Christian Castro, an ICE agent, faces Minnesota charges of four counts of second-degree assault and one count of falsely reporting a crime after a January 14 shooting that wounded a Venezuelan migrant in the leg during Operation Metro Surge. Castro was arrested in Texas on May 29 and held at Cameron County Jail. A federal judge denied Minnesota's request to block his release pending extradition proceedings.
