Canada has imposed tariffs on approximately $20 billion of annual U.S. imports in response to U.S. tariffs on Canadian goods. Prime Minister Mark Carney's government also introduced a C$7.5 billion economic support package. Both the White House and Chinese state media have noted Canada's alignment with China in choosing retaliation.
